The requirements to become a Cyber Welfare Instructor: clarity, not barriers
Basic technical skills, communication abilities and ethical integrity: the standard that protects the value of the training
The requirements to become a Cyber Welfare Instructor are not a matter of high-sounding academic titles, but of a precise balance between basic technical skills, communication abilities and, above all, ethical integrity. The effectiveness of the Program depends not only on the quality of its recommendations, but on the quality of the people who pass them on: on this page you will find the criteria needed to apply to the Education Project.
What you will find in this section
- Basic technical skills: a solid understanding of the fundamentals of digital security: you don’t need to be a specialist, you need to master what you teach.
- Communication abilities: the disposition to explain with clarity and empathy, adapting your language to people with no technical background.
- Ethical integrity: the willingness to sign and uphold the Code of Ethics: empowerment, accuracy and no alarmism.
- The meaning of the requirements: defining clear requirements is not about creating barriers, but about protecting the value of the training you will deliver.
- The assessment: how the criteria are evaluated during the application, transparently and in proportion to the role.
Why this section: the Cyber Welfare method
The requirements are the minimum standard that safeguards the quality of the whole Cyber Welfare Program: every Instructor must be a reliable guide, able to inspire trust and lead users towards real digital awareness. Within the Framework they ideally correspond to the maturity of level FL5 (Expert/Guide); those who don’t meet them yet can build them starting from the citizens’ path "Protect Your Privacy", which consolidates skills and behavior.
Who it is for
People considering an application to the Education Project who want to understand whether their profile fits: IT professionals, trainers, teachers and enthusiasts with solid foundations who want to check in advance what is needed, with no surprises at selection time.
Requirements and details
If you meet the three criteria — basic technical skills, communication abilities, ethical integrity — the next step is applying from the Join the Education Project page. To better understand the role awaiting you, read "Become a Cyber Welfare Instructor" and the Code of Ethics.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a degree or an IT certification?
No: the requirements are not a matter of academic titles. What counts is the solidity of your technical foundations, the ability to communicate them and genuine adherence to the Program’s ethical standards.
Why are there requirements if the project aims to be inclusive?
Defining clear requirements is not about creating barriers, but about protecting the value of the training delivered: those who learn from an Instructor must be able to trust their preparation.
I don’t have all the required skills yet: where do I start?
From the citizens’ path "Protect Your Privacy" and the levels of the Cyber Welfare Framework: they consolidate the technical and behavioral foundations on which to build a future application.
Do you meet the criteria? Submit your application from the Join the Education Project page; if you’d rather explore the role first, start from "Become a Cyber Welfare Instructor".
